Literature Text

Wrapped in silks,
And smooth velvet,
Placed in a wooden chest,
Encrusted with rubies
And sapphires,
(Not emeralds, though,
I never liked emeralds.)
I placed my heart.

I locked it.
The key was gold,
Tiny,
Decorated with one small,
Glittering diamond.
(A tell-tale
To the casual observer
Of its worth.)

I placed the key
In a golden chain.
(Easier safekeeping, I decided.)
And then,
Without doubting my move,
I subtly gave it to you,
Along
With the locked box.

I wonder now,
After so much time,
If you ever knew
I gave you the box.
I wonder if you ever saw it,
And thought,
"What is in there?"

I trusted that
It would be enough,
To simply do it
Slyly.
I thought
You could
Read my mind.

I assumed you would know.
(I know, don't assume
else wise you'll make an ass out of you and me.)
But I thought you would feel the pulse,
Each beat echoing within the box
Softly saying,
"I love you"
Love... every writer's eternal muse.

We're still waiting for it, though, aren't we, friends? We sure as hell would love to know what all the hype's about, at least =p

Yeah. Maybe. One day.
